Statement of Faith
Below are some of our foundational statements of faith, which we believe are grounded in the Bible:
1. SCRIPTURES. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God and are without error in the original writings; and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
2. GOD. We believe in one God who is the Creator of all that is, and who manifests Himself in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. PERSON AND WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin; and that He regenerates, indwells, enlightens, and empowers those who are saved. (John 16:8-13; 1 Corinthians 3:16 ; Ephesians 1:13-14)
4. PERSON AND WORK OF CHRIST. We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God; that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is fully God and fully man. (John 1:2-14; Luke 1:35)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice for our sins; and that our salvation is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Peter 2:24 ; Ephesians 1:7 ; Romans 4:25)
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, where He now ministers as our High Priest and intercessor. (Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 4:14 ; Hebrews 7:25 ; 1 John 2:1)
We believe in the “blessed hope,” which is the personal and imminent return of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 20:4-6; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 ; Acts 1:11)
5. DEPRAVITY OF MAN. We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and are sinners in thought, word and deed. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23 ; Romans 5:12 ; Ephesians 2:1-3)
6. SALVATION. We believe that salvation is the gift of God, by His grace alone and not by our merits; and that all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again and thereby become the children of God. (John 3:3-5; Titus 3:5 ; Ephesians 2:8-10)
We believe that all believers are saved with an eternal salvation, are kept by God’s power, and are thus secure in Christ forever. (John 6:37-39; John 10:28 ; Romans 8:38-39 ; 1 Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
